Trunk Space

Trunk Space, by Geneviere, a Middle School science teacher in Seminole County Schools, FL represents a dynamic example of using digital storytelling for making science and math facts come alive incorporating personal connections along with developing a lesson learned in order to go beyond just tell ABOUT her topic.

Diane Lewis and Kathy Rhodus, 2005 DigiTales Camp graduates, hosted their own digital storytelling camps as part of a R.E.A.L. grant providing training for teachers in developing skills in multi-media communication as well as a way to create authentic products useful to their community partnerships. One school’s partnership with the Central Florida Zoological Park provided the opportunity to create fact-based digital storytelling that will be on display at the zoo’s educational kiosks. Diane and Kathy’s facilitation of Zoo stories provide fantastic examples of digital storytelling going beyond language arts.
